James Hennessey, Ph.D.
Director of Intern Training
Licensed Psychologist

James received his degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1983. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Florida Psychological Association, and has been a board member and Membership Chair of the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies. His theoretical orientation is a blend of psychodynamic, systems and cognitive behavioral theory. James' professional interests include Object Relations Theory, Self Psychology, the treatment of personality disorders, shyness and social anxiety, men's issues and international student concerns. He is also Coordinator of FSU's Beyond Borders, Costa Rica Exchange Program and a member of the FSU Public Safety Committee. Off campus, James is a member of the Red Cross Mental Health Disaster Team and volunteers for a number of wildlife and environmental organizations. |
