Barbara Davidov received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami, as well as her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is fluent in both French and Spanish. Barbara is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Florida Psychological Association. She recently relocated to Tallahassee from South Florida, and began working at the University Counseling Center in 2008. In Miami, she gained experience working with individuals from all cultures, especially Latinos and Caribbean Islanders. Her passion lies with multicultural diversity issues and she is a published author in the American Psychologist, co-authoring an article titled “The Virtue of Multiculturalism.” Her other clinical interests include adjustment difficulties to new culture or place, relationship issues, healthy sexual behaviors, and sexual education. Her clinical approach is to understand the individual within the context of his or her family and society while looking at that person’s intrapsychic struggles through a psychodynamic lens. |
