Persons eligible for services: faculty, staff, or anyone (including students) receiving a paycheck from FSU may utilize the services.

Fees for services: $20 minimum to $85 maximum. Sliding scale is based on family income and the number of family members.

Crisis Management Unit

The Center provides personal, relationship, and career counseling to children and adults living in Tallahassee and surrounding counties. Counselors are masters/specialist trainees in mental health and rehabilitation counseling training programs.

Fees for services: application fee for individuals is $25, $35 for couples and families. For individual therapy (non court-ordered cases) a sliding fee scale (based on income and dependents) that ranges from $20-$60 an hour. Court-ordered and referred clients pay $60/hour for therapy and $135 for an evaluation. A comprehensive assessment (e.g., LD/ADHD battery) is $325. Individual tests can also be administered and all have standard fees associated with them. Please call for more information.

The UCC is the primary mental health services provider for FSU students offering individual counseling (limited number of sessions per year), group psychotherapy, couples counseling, crisis intervention, outreach prevention programming and consultation. Our role is to enhance the academic experience of students by promoting healthy personal development through brief individual counseling, group counseling, skill enhancement workshops and preventative outreach services. The UCC is also committed to high quality training and education of professionals in a variety of mental health disciplines, serving as an internship site for pre-doctoral and pre-masters interns in clinical and counseling psychology, mental health counseling, social work and art therapy.
