What is the FSU University Counseling Center (UCC)? (top)
The UCC is a student service agency within the Division of Student Affairs . The major goal is to provide support services that help each student grow and develop emotionally, interpersonally, and intellectually.
Who is eligible for counseling services? (top)
All currently registered students are eligible for FREE services at the UCC. You will be asked to show your FSU Card at each visit.
Who provides services at the UCC? (top)
The staff consists of full-time professional counselors from various disciplines in the area of mental health. Services are also provided by masters and doctoral interns under the supervision of professional staff.
Why should I come to the UCC? (top)
As an individual, you have unique concerns and needs. The UCC offers various counseling methods tailored to meet your needs. The following is a list of possible reasons you might want to see a counselor.

How do I see a counselor? (top)
You can call 644-2003 or walk-in to schedule your initial appointment. An appointment will be scheduled for your first visit between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Are the UCC services confidential? (top)
UCC records are not included in any of your university records. All information about you, even acknowledgement of your visits, is confidential and cannot be released without your written permission.
What types of services are provided? (top)
The UCC provides individual, group, and couples counseling, crisis intervention and referrals. The center also offers a wide variety of workshops and presentations on mental health topics for student organizations, residence halls, and the community.
How do I know if I need individual or group counseling? (top)
The type of counseling you receive will be decided by you and your counselor. Sometimes a combination of individual and group counseling is the most effective.
What kinds of groups are offered at the UCC? (top)
The UCC offers a variety of groups each semester. A group is formed when people with similar issues want to discuss and work on their common concerns. Groups may be short-term or on-going and consist of four to twelve people.
What is the difference between the different professional titles of the staff? (top)
